Marazion is one of the few places in Cornwall where parking is abundant, but you still need to be in the right place. The town is effectively bypassed by the parking system, keeping traffic away from the historic cottages.

Most visitors heading to St Michael’s Mount should head straight for the large “Follyfield” car park at the western end of the town. If you are just visiting the beach or want to use the Cornwall Council app, the Station car park is your best bet.

Our Top Picks

Your choice depends mainly on whether you are crossing to the island or just enjoying the coast.

  • Best for St Michael’s Mount (The Main Hub): St Michael’s Mount & Long Stay (Follyfield). The primary car park for the castle. It is huge, located right on the seafront, and uses an ANPR camera system.
  • Best for The Beach (Council): Marazion Station Car Park. Run by Cornwall Council. It is located slightly further west but offers direct level access to the beach and coastal path.
  • Best for Quick Drop-offs: Short Stay (The Slipway). Located right next to the Godolphin Hotel and the causeway. It has a strict 3-hour limit, so don’t park here if you are going to the castle.

St Michael’s Mount Parking

This is the official parking area for the island. It is privately managed (St Aubyn Estates) and does not accept Cornwall Council Rover tickets.

Follyfield Long Stay Car Park

Postcode: TR17 0EG (SatNav recommended)

Best For: Visiting the castle and spending the day. This car park uses Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR). You pay on exit or via their specific app (check signage).
Note: In the height of summer, a large overflow field opens directly opposite the main entrance. Always follow the marshal’s instructions.

Short Stay Car Park (The Slipway)

Postcode: TR17 0EQ
Capacity: ~50 spaces
Best For: Quick visits or drop-offs. It is located right at the start of the causeway (look for the Godolphin Hotel).

Council & Beach Parking

Marazion Station Car Park

Postcode: TR17 0AA
Capacity: ~130 spaces
Best For: Beach days and dog walkers. This is a Cornwall Council car park, so you can use the ‘JustPark’ app here. It is a few minutes’ walk along the coast path to the Mount causeway, but often quieter than the main hub.
