Parking in Looe is actually easier than in many Cornish towns, provided you follow one simple rule: Aim for West Looe.

East Looe, where the main beach and Banjo Pier are located, has very restricted access and tiny car parks. The best strategy is almost always to park in the large Millpool car park in West Looe and enjoy the scenic 10-minute walk along the river to the bridge.

Our Top Picks

Your choice depends on how close you need to be to the shops versus how much space you need.

  • Best for Day Trips (The Main Hub): Millpool Car Park. The largest car park in the town (900+ spaces). It is a pleasant, flat walk along the river to the town centre.
  • Best for East Looe (If early): Buller Quay (Harbour). Located right on the waterfront in East Looe. It is perfect for crabbing and boat trips, but it fills up instantly.
  • Best for Views & Free Parking: Marine Drive (Hannafore). Driving through West Looe to Hannafore Point often reveals free on-street parking spaces right next to the sea wall.

This is the “sensible” side of the river to park on. You avoid the tight streets of East Looe and have ample space.
