The Shore

The Shore
Features: Accessible, Gluten Free, Bar

Located on a quiet street just moments from Penzance’s historic promenade, Shore is a small, independently run restaurant that has garnered national acclaim for its singular focus on quality.

Owned and operated by Chef Bruce Rennie, Shore is a true passion project where every elementl from the sourcing of the fish to the service at your table; is personally overseen by Bruce himself. The minimalist, elegant interior provides a calm backdrop for what is widely considered one of the most sophisticated and technical seafood experiences in Cornwall.

Dining & Cuisine

Shore operates with a dedicated tasting menu format, allowing the kitchen to showcase the absolute best of the day’s landings from nearby Newlyn.

  • The Menu: The multi-course tasting menu is a masterclass in seafood cookery, drawing inspiration from Japanese techniques and classic Mediterranean flavours. Expect refined dishes such as Newlyn cod with dashi, locally dived scallops, or monkfish with seasonal sea vegetables. Bruce’s cooking is defined by clean flavours and incredible precision.
  • The Ethos: Sustainability and seasonality are the pillars of the restaurant. By working with a small-scale tasting menu, Shore ensures zero waste and only utilizes the most exceptional produce available from the local boats and growers.
  • Drink Pairings: The wine list is as carefully considered as the food, featuring a curated selection of organic and biodynamic wines, as well as local Cornish saké and artisan ciders designed to complement the delicate seafood.
  • The Atmosphere: With only a handful of tables, the vibe is intimate and hushed, yet never stuffy. It is a place for true food lovers who want to focus on the artistry on the plate.
