Boscastle
Boscastle is a remarkably unspoilt fishing village nestled on Cornwall’s dramatic north coast, defined by its deep, serpentine medieval harbour.
This rare natural inlet provides one of the few safe havens along this otherwise exposed and rugged stretch of coastline, which is why it was historically a bustling port for local trade, serving as a hub for both importing goods and exporting local slates.
While the village is famously associated with the devastating flood of 2004, it has been beautifully restored since then, and much of its ancient character has been meticulously preserved.
Protected by the National Trust, Boscastle is today perhaps most famous as the home of the quirky Museum of Witchcraft, but it is also known for its strong community spirit and its deep, palpable connection to the surrounding natural world.
Visitors can explore the dramatic cliffs and enjoy some of the most spectacular coastal walks in Cornwall, ensuring Boscastle remains a cherished destination for any itinerary.
