Culture
Located on Falmouth’s vibrant Custom House Quay, Culture is a restaurant that redefines the connection between the plate and the land.
Helmed by Chef Hylton Espey, the restaurant was awarded a Michelin Green Star for its unwavering commitment to sustainable gastronomy.
The concept, titled “Nature Led Dining,” focuses on storytelling through food, where each dish is designed to represent a specific Cornish farm, forager, or local landscape, creating an intimate and educational culinary journey.
Dining & Cuisine
Culture does not follow a traditional à la carte format; instead, it offers a set multi-course experience that evolves with the micro-seasons of the West Country.
- The Menu: A curated tasting journey (often 7 to 10 courses) that highlights hyper-local ingredients, from wild-foraged botanicals to ethically sourced Cornish meats and day-boat seafood.
- Ethos: The “Journey” menu is built on minimal waste and maximum flavour, with the chefs often presenting dishes themselves to explain the origin and inspiration behind the ingredients.
- Wine Pairing: An expertly selected wine flight is available, focusing on low-intervention and organic vineyards that share the restaurant’s sustainable values.
- Environment: The dining room is minimalist and elegant, designed to keep the focus entirely on the food and the coastal views outside.
