If you are driving to Port Isaac, the most important advice is: Do not drive into the village centre. The streets are famously narrow (some are only 6ft wide), and there is no public parking at the bottom.

Port Isaac operates on a “park at the top, walk down” system. There are two main car parks located next to each other on the B3267 approach road. Both involve a steep 10-15 minute walk down to the harbour, so be prepared for the hike back up.

Our Top Picks

Your choice here is mainly between the Council-run car park and the larger Parish Council site.

  • Best for Day Trips (Larger): Port Isaac Main Car Park. The largest site with the most capacity. It is run by the Parish Council and often has an overflow field in summer.
  • Best for Short Visits (Council): New Road Car Park. Run by Cornwall Council (JustPark app). It is slightly closer to the coast path for Port Gaverne.
  • Best for Port Gaverne: New Road Car Park. Port Gaverne has almost no parking, so park here and walk the 10 minutes down the hill or coastal path.

The Two Main Car Parks

These two car parks are effectively neighbours, located on the cliffs overlooking the sea. You will pass them as you arrive from the B3314.

Port Isaac Main Car Park (St Endellion)

Postcode: PL29 3TR
Capacity: ~140 spaces + Overflow
Best For: Peace of mind. This is the “official” village car park run by the Parish Council. It includes a play area and toilets (20p). In peak summer, they open the adjacent field, making it the safest bet for finding a space.

New Road Car Park (Council)

Postcode: PL29 3SB
Capacity: ~100 spaces
Best For: Shorter stays or JustPark users. It is located slightly further along the road (on the right). It offers incredible views out to sea directly from the parking bays.

Port Gaverne & Beach Parking

Port Gaverne is the smaller cove next door to Port Isaac. It is beautiful but not car-friendly.

Port Gaverne (Roadside)

Postcode: PL29 3SQ
Capacity: Extremely limited
Best For: Drop-offs only. There are a tiny handful of spaces on the road, but these are almost always taken or reserved for residents/hotel guests. It is strongly recommended that you park at New Road Car Park and walk the coastal path (roughly 10-15 mins) down to the cove.
