Our Top Picks
These three options offer the best access to the cove.
1. The Rashleigh Inn Apartments
The Rashleigh Inn isn’t just a pub; it offers self-catering apartments located directly above the bar.
- The Vibe: Nautical and cosy. You are right in the heart of the action.
- The Stay: The views from the windows are unbeatable—you are looking straight out over the harbour wall to the ocean. It is the perfect spot if you want to pop downstairs for a pint and a crab sandwich.
- Good to Know: Because you are above the pub, it can be lively in the summer evenings, but the sound of the sea usually drowns it out.
2. Polkerris Holidays (Cottages)
This family-run business manages a collection of properties within the hamlet, including the converted Old School House.
- The Vibe: Private and peaceful. These are proper “home from home” cottages, perfect for families who want their own space.
- The Stay: They range from large houses for groups to smaller cottages. Most have gardens and parking (a luxury here), and they are all just a short walk down the lane to the beach.
3. Wyndham Trenython Manor (Best for Luxury Nearby)
Located on the hill directly above Polkerris (a steep 15-minute walk up the coast path or a 2-minute drive), this is the nearest hotel.
- The Vibe: Grand and historic. It is an Italianate manor house with sweeping views of the bay.
- The Stay: It offers full hotel facilities including an indoor pool, spa, and restaurant. It is a great option if you want the beauty of Polkerris but the comfort of a hotel service.
Camping & Glamping
- Polkerris View: A small, friendly campsite located just up the hill from the beach. As the name suggests, the views are fantastic. It is basic but perfectly located for walkers.
- Par Sands Holiday Park: Located just around the headland (walkable via the coast path). If you want static caravans and plenty of facilities for children, this is the best nearby option.
Parking & Logistics
- The “Gold Dust” Warning: Parking in Polkerris is notoriously difficult. If you book a cottage or apartment, double-check that it comes with a dedicated space. If it doesn’t, you may have to pay for the public car park, which is a walk up the hill.
- Access: The road down to the beach is single-track and steep. It is not suitable for large motorhomes.
