Isles Of Scilly
The Isles of Scilly form an extraordinary archipelago of around 200 islands and rocks, situated 28 miles southwest of Land’s End.
This National Landscape is defined by its exceptionally mild microclimate, influenced by the North Atlantic Drift, which allows sub-tropical plants to flourish in world-renowned sites like the Tresco Abbey Garden.
Historically part of the Duchy of Cornwall since the 14th century, the islands boast a rich maritime and archaeological heritage, with over 230 ancient monuments ranging from Bronze Age burial chambers to Civil War fortresses.
Today, only five islands are inhabited; St Mary’s, Tresco, St Martin’s, Bryher, and St Agnes—each offering a distinct character characterized by crystal-clear turquoise waters, white-sand beaches, and a “time-stood-still” pace of life that remains unique within the United Kingdom.
