Bude Sea Pool
Bude Sea Pool is a unique part-natural, part man-made tidal pool nestled beneath the cliffs of Summerleaze Beach in the seaside town of Bude, North Cornwall. Built in the 1930s, it offers a safe and scenic place to swim, sheltered from the powerful Atlantic currents. Measuring around 91 metres by 45 metres, the pool is refreshed naturally by the sea with every high tide.
Since 2012, the pool has been cared for by the ‘Friends of Bude Sea Pool‘, a not-for-profit charity that stepped in after public funding was withdrawn. The charity works tirelessly to keep this beloved community landmark open, safe, and free for everyone to enjoy relying entirely on donations and fundraising.
Please consider supporting their work by becoming a Friend or making a donation. Visitors are reminded that children must be supervised at all times, and dogs should be kept on leads and out of the water.
