Parking at “The Helford” depends entirely on which side of the river you are visiting. If you want the thatched cottages and the Shipwrights Arms, you need the South Bank (Helford Village). If you want the Ferry Boat Inn, Trebah Gardens, and the beach, you need the North Bank (Helford Passage).

Do not try to drive between them unless you enjoy long detours through narrow lanes!

Our Top Picks

Save time by heading straight to the car park that matches your plans.

  • Best for Helford Village (South Bank): Helford Village Car Park. The main car park for the south side. It is a large Council-run site a short walk from the village centre and the foot ferry.
  • Best for Helford Passage (North Bank): Helford Passage Car Park. Located on the steep hill down to the Ferry Boat Inn. It is privately run and perfect for a beach day or lunch on the north side.
  • Best for Wild Swimming & Views: St Anthony Car Park. A hidden gem on the Gillan Creek side (South). It offers access to a stunning church, boat hire, and a sheltered beach.
